1. Information We Collect

OneWord collects minimal information to provide and improve the service:

• Language preferences: Your native and target language selections.
• Learning data: Words learned, quiz scores, streak data, and proficiency assessments. This data is stored locally on your device.
• Anonymous identifier: A random anonymous ID generated by Firebase Authentication. We do not collect names, emails, or personal information.
• Subscription status: Managed by RevenueCat to verify your Premium subscription. RevenueCat may collect purchase-related data per their privacy policy.

2. How We Use Information

• To generate personalized vocabulary based on your proficiency level and learning history.
• To track your learning progress (streaks, scores, discovered words).
• To manage your subscription status.
• To improve the quality of word generation and difficulty adaptation.

3. Data Storage

All learning data (words, progress, scores) is stored locally on your device using SQLite. We do not store your learning data on our servers. Conversation data from the proficiency assessment is processed in real-time and not permanently stored.

4. Third-Party Services

• Firebase: Used for anonymous authentication and serverless functions. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: Used for subscription management. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI: Used for word generation and language assessment. Prompts are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Language preference and proficiency data may be sent to our cloud functions for word generation purposes only.

6. Data Retention

Your learning data persists on your device until you delete the App. Anonymous Firebase authentication tokens are managed by Google's infrastructure.

7. Children's Privacy

OneWord is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Your Rights

You can delete all your local data by uninstalling the App. Since we use anonymous authentication and store data locally, there is no account data on our servers to delete.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date.
